Explore a winter wonderland on snowshoes. Enjoy a morning guided snowshoe tour and admire the dramatic colours of Marble Canyon located in Kootenay National Park.
On this half-day Snowshoe Guided tour, you will see how the pounding and frozen waters of Tokumn Creek have eroded a 40-meter-deep limestone gorge. Walk through the forest and search for snowshoe hare, lynx and wolf tracks while exploring the surroundings.
During this truly Canadian experience, you will be treated to a hot chocolate and a special maple taffy made in the snow.

Highlights and Sightseeing:
Marble Canyon, a 40m deep gorge, forged by Tokumn Creek.
Kootenay Fire: See the destruction caused by the wildfire that threatened Banff in 2003 and how the landscape and animals are adapting.
The Hudson’s Bay Point Blanket Jacket: See the jacket that was used as a trade item between natives and one of the largest trading companies of its time.
Authentic Trapping Tools: See some of the traps and snares once used by the fur traders and try your hand at snaring a guide!

The minimum age: 8 years. Children under 18 years of age must have a parent or legal guardian on the ride with them.
Duration: 4 hours.
Walking Time: 2-2.5 hours.
Return Walking Distance: 3.5 km.
Elevation Gain: minimal.
Season Dates: December – April*, subject to snow conditions.
Departure: Saturday and Sunday at 8:30 am from Banff.
The tour runs up to -27 degrees Celcius or it will be rescheduled based on the temperature.
Dress for the weather.
All adults must sign a waiver prior to the tour. A waiver must also be completed by the parent or guardian of any child under the age of 18.

Remember to bring:
Warm clothes, including hats, gloves and warm boots. Ski wear is strongly recommended for this tour.
