During this 4.5 hour course you will learn the basics of mountain biking with a qualified and experienced instructor. You will learn but you will also ride! in the beginning of the course you will start on the easy trails so you can get a feel for the excitement. The certified instructors will get you up to speed on the proper stance and body position, as well as elementary uphill and downhill bike control.
This Intro to Mountain Biking course will give you an opportunity to develop greater confidence and new skills in a supportive and safe environment.
Topics include:
– Position and balance on uphill and downhill
– Cadence and speed control
– Trail scanning
– Riding switchbacks
– Approaching and riding obstacles
– Basic cornering
Minimum age: 16 years old.
Duration: 3-4 hours.
Season: March-November.
Tour schedule: 8:30 am until 1:00 pm – please arrive 15 minutes prior to your course start time
Minimum of 2 people are required to run this course
NOTE: A bike is not provided with this experience. If you don’t have a mountain bike you can rent one from the Experience Provider.
It’s recommended that all personal bikes have a spare tube and repair kit.
Remember to bring/wear:
– sun protection (sunglasses, hat, sunscreen),
– weather appropriate clothing,
– closed toe shoes,
– bicycle,
– helmet,
– snacks and/or lunch,
– backpack,
– 1L of water per person is recommended.
